The /HDG/ Style Guide

As of the 23rd, the style guide is complete! Vision design ends, and all updates after May will be accompanied by a game update. You can now see all current designs on the pixiv page. (can't post because of 3mb limit here, sorry!)

I was really anxious before today's release, since the more I worked on set/game design the more the weight of /HDG/ really weighed on me. There's a reason why nobody has ever done a "capture all NPCs" kind of game; it's a lot of work.

There's a lot of self-doubt whether the project would make it, or if it would be as good as I hope it will be. But as Hazoret says, "There is no tomorrow, so don't look back." 

Between systems, scripting, mapping and art, I had to put my foot down on tinkering with internal game systems and call for the first batch of heroines to have sprites made. Deadlines have to be made so I don't lock myself into indecision. 

It turned out to be the right decision, since working on the character sprites made me happier and cleared up a lot of doubts and uncertainties about VIRIDIAN's design. In the end, I am really happy with the style guide!  

VIRIDIAN will debut 14 capturable heroines. 4 will be named uniques.

Recurring and important characters also have LORAs made so there's a higher level of consistency to them. Most prominently, Yudina, who will be VIRIDIAN's endboss and mark the end of VIRIDIAN and the start of PEWTER.

The story of VIRIDIAN follows Miko and Misogi as they (((consensually))) take over a small village and flush it of meddlesome Bikini Knights. Looking to find a way into Endton Keep, they have to make their way across a forgotten path in a forgotten forest whose bandit inhabitants block their path!

VIRIDIAN will be split up into two parts (town/forest) with a final deadline for the second part due on JUNE 15th, so I can work on PEWTER up until Demo Day 51 on JULY 7th.

For now, I'll take a break playing some children's card games for three days, then work begins again!
