Prototype Progress Week of 230508



May I have five minutes of your time? Progress on prototype continues! Tutorial scene coming up nicely. Style Guide coming on the 23rd.


Scripted event battles! Working on a proper tutorial to start you off with Professor Oak style! Making new sprites/enemies and timing myself!

Why Continue Work On the Prototype?

So that I can make mistakes before you see them! A prototype is a low investment proof that something "works". Rather than have you download the 300+ MBs to see my mistakes, I shall correct them in prototyping beforehand!

Events I test today will become templates for more advanced events in the future, and my work will be faster! New this week, video of Misogi bullying the first bikini knight he encounters:



Vision Design and the style guide is coming along nicely. By the 23rd, I must stop vision design and hand over a style guide to Shogun-sama, who will continue with the game design.

Why Continue Work On Vision Design?

Many projects die before completion. I would like a something to remember the very first concepts. It's like a town map I can refer to if I ever get tired or lost. It will also be my promise to complete the game's vision.

Why yes, the lewds inside are also good motivation, why do you ask? :chad:

A 14-page style guide seems possible before the 23rd.

In it I will detail factions, enemies, locations up until the end of the first major "gym battle". Please look forward to it!


Since I am using Pokemon as a reference anyway, I will divide the next major stages of development and codename them with reference to Pokemon Red:

PROTOTYPE - Where we are at now. Still have to figure out classes, combat, base stats, item drops

PALLET - starting area, tutorials, worldbuilding

VIRIDIAN - standard small town, functions, story, rival

PEWTER - major town, "gym battle", scripted story heroine capture

After which I will reevaluate interest in /HDG/ and see if it is worth continuing.


Prospects are good! Author-kun is learning fast, now learn map-making! Work faster!

The game is a lot of work, even making sprites from AI takes a lot of time, thank you for your patience!
